Recognition of EAS in Northern Ireland

30/10/2024

We are delighted that earlier this year, our chair, Richard Moore, was named in the King’s Birthday Honours list and received an MBE for “services to Equine Assisted Therapy and Learning in Northern Ireland”.

Richard said that it was very encouraging to have the work of the One Equine Trust recognised, but he felt this award was mainly recognition of the achievements and dedication of the several independent practitioners here, as well as the long-established organisations – Riding for the Disabled Association, British Horse Society and the Donkey Sanctuary.

We will use the growing awareness that this award created to promote the value of Equine Assisted Services. It should be particularly helpful in our attempts to engage with government agencies in the new NI administration.
